You probably have a dozen questions about what a boudoir photoshoot is like. These details about the process will hopefully answer some of them...
First of all, nobody has a "perfect body." Those perfect bodies you see in the magaFirst of all, nobody has a "perfect body." Those perfect bodies you see in the magazines are all photoshopped...it is your turn now.
Most women obsess about their bodies, but their men obsess about them too, in a good way. So if you are worried if your butt is going to look too big, for example, he will probably appreciate it if you feature your best assets (pun intended).
And regardless of what you wear, or don’t wear, your beauty shots will happen from the neck up. Your face says it all. What makes the best boudoir photos is to emphasize the alluring mood and feel of the image. Before he notices what you are wearing, make him wonder, "What is she thinking about in that photo?"
You will understandably be a little nervous, regardless of how conservative you may or may not be, because you will be worrying about how hot you look. Your confidence will increase throughout your session as you see how amazing you look through the lens. That is the photographers job...to make sure the lighting, the angles, what you are wearing, and how you look are just right....trust the abilities of For Your Eyes Boudoir Photography.
So forget about your cellulite, stretch marks, big or small body parts, scars, bad tattoos, and especially that blemish you woke up with the morning of the shoot. Nobody will see your before images, and when the images are finished you will see yourself as everyone else does...beautiful.
Once you have chosen For Your Eyes Boudoir Photography to capture your beauty, it is time to schedule your photoshoot session and begin your consultation, which can be done over the phone, through emails, or in person, and gives us a chance to discuss any creative ideas you might have, the look and feel of photos you desire, possible locations, wardrobe, props, etc.
Look through magazines, my gallery, or the internet for other photographs that have the poses, the wardrobe, the look and feel that you desire. These are your photos. I shoot your ideas, but if you need some help, I will help spark your creativity.
Its All About You
Whether you are excited, a little nervous, or both, one of the first things to remember is that even if your photos are a gift for someone else, your boudoir session is all about you. Relax and have fun with it. You deserve a little pampering going to all this effort, so do a little shopping and pick out a couple of things new to wear for the photoshoot.
It is better to bring more wardrobe options than well use for the shoot. Sometimes ideas for shots happen after we go through what you've brought and match them up with areas at the location.
Obviously the location of the shoot or even the time of year will influence the type of wardrobe that you choose to bring, but here are a few suggestions:
• Your sexiest pair of jeans that make you look your best when you go out for the night
• Your most comfortable pair of jeans that you wear around the house and lounge in
• Your cutest t-shirt to wear with a cute pair of panties
• A pair of cute long socks (and nothing else)
• Fishnet stockings with your sexiest stilettos or sexy boots.
• A variety of lingerie, whatever your style and tastes are, or even something new and different.
• A loose sweater that can hang off your shoulder with a pair of panties
• A tight sweater than doesnt cover your backside.
• A beautiful dress or your hottest club outfit.
• Your significant others favorite sports team jersey, uniform, dress shirt and tie or just the tie.
• Character costumes, maybe you want to impersonate a movie character/actress
• If the location includes a pool, a bikini
• Or just your birthday suit.
Accessories - Jewelry, rings, bracelets, long necklaces, sunglasses, hats, etc...Not too many, but they can really add to the shot.
Props - Whether it is a meaningful, sentimental item or something fun to hold onto or just have in the shot, they can make a great shot even greater.
Makeup
I highly recommend using the services of a professional makeup artist. And a great makeup artist is truly an artist and worth every penny. You may do a great job applying your own makeup on a daily basis, but a MUA is trained to make you look your best under the lights and in front of the camera.
Take advantage of their expertise and tricks of the trade, and pamper yourself even more allowing your boudoir experience to be that much more relaxing. Most MUA will travel to the location of the photoshoot and stick around to reapply or change your makeup for an additional fee.
If you choose to hire a makeup artist you should arrive without any makeup. You wouldn't paint a canvas half way and then hand it to Picasso to finish, so come as blank slate, and let the makeup artist make you look like a masterpiece.
You may choose any makeup artist you choose, and here are a couple one that I highly recommend...
Kathy Moberly - Faces by KLM - www.facesbyklm.com - facesbyklm_mac.com - 317-319-1614
Kathy has been a MUA for over 26 years and has done makeup for Hooters, Playboy, ESPN, & more.
Elena Rogers - elite salon-spa-studio - www.elitesalonspastudio.com - scarlet19_mail.ru - 317-412-1347
elite salon-spa-studio has a package with For Your Eyes Photo that includes shampoo & hairstyle, makeup, pedicure, and a massage.
Hair
You can choose to do your own hair, set a hair appointment before your shoot, or have a hairstylist at the shoot. Some professional makeup artists have the skills and experience to do minor styling or changes if you come to the shoot with already good looking hair.
That said, if you are going for a certain hairdo to make the style of the shot, such as pinup, or something edgy and wild, then by all meanscall a professional.
When you arrive for the your scheduled shoot time we will sit down and discuss the shoot and look through shot ideas from my portfolio, examples I have collected throughout the years, and any that you may have brought.
We will also take a look at the wardrobe that you brought with you, and match up your choices with areas of the location to shoot that will work best.
Feel free to bring a mix of your favorite tunes to play while we are shooting to help you relax or help with the mood of your photos.
Once your beautified and ready to go, we will start the shoot at a very relaxed pace, starting with one of your more modest wardrobe selections, and work on your comfort level in front of the camera and lights. Even if you are very confident, you are probably stressing about how sexy you look in the wardrobe, if your expression looks right, etc. The important thing to remember is to relax and have fun. You'll be able to see your how your photos look and build your confidence throughout the shoot. Well shoot hundreds of photos to ensure that we capture your personality and those perfect moments, poses, and expressions for you to choose from.
During the shoot, we will set up specific poses, but letting you move around the room or setting on your own and without any direction will allow us to capture natural emotions and movements. And if you get any ideas during the shoot, let's shoot them. The shoot is not over until I put the camera down.
Within a few days after your session, you will have access to a private online proof gallery that you can view on-line. You will also receive an email detailing how to make image selections for your selected package. If you wish to upgrade your package to include more images, you can do so. These proofs are not to be printed or posted online and will include a copyright watermark
After you let me know which photos you want me to work on and retouch, I will start working on the photos and email or upload them to your own private online gallery as I complete them.
Once all the images that you have chosen are completed, and you are happy with the way they turned out, you will receive a copyright release letter giving you permission to print the images you paid for with the online or retail photo print company of your choice. A CD with the finished images can be given upon request.
Can I print or post online the proofs from the shoot?
The image straight out of the camera, as beautiful as it may be, it not my finished work, and is also not part paid package. I retain copyrights on all images you do not choose and pay for that are included in your package.
Can I purchase a CD of all my proofs?
Sorry, I don't sell proof images, only sell finished work.
You won't post any of my photos without permission will you?
These are your photos For Your Eyes. The only extra eyes that will see them are those that you show them to. I do not include any photos in my printed or online portfolio without your permission.
What if I decide I want more photos from the shoot after you've already given me the final CD?
I keep all work from the shoot, and can always go back and work on extra photos if you decide you want more images.
